A moist or wet crawlspace is bad for the walls and floor and could lead to the floor rotting. It also generates cold that would pass through the rooms, obviously resulting in cooler temperatures in these areas, whereby more heat must be generated to warm the area. By insulating the crawlspace with DroWa insulation chips, this problem is greatly prevented.
DroWa chips stop the soil in the crawlspace from drying out. This insulation layer of chips is applied on the ground, which results in the moisture on the lower level to condensate, only to fall right back down again.
If the crawlspace should be flooded the chips would drift. The product is made from recycled polystyrene and consists of 99.6% air. It does not take in any moisture and does not decompose.
The resulting saving in heating costs is around 3 to 6 m³ natural gas per annum. It will also provide you with more living comfort and it is better for your health. The product also limits unnecessary repair work to wooden parts under floors and pipes and the crawlspace remains accessible.
